...JUST TO SIMPLY MAKE YOU SMILE...

Inspiration:    Matthew 6:19-23; Philippians 1:20-24

Dearest Lord,
I took so many turns in my life.
I followed Your voice anywhere You called me.
There were times, I got lost
But You never allowed me
To go astray so far from You.

I walked through paths
Winding, steep, smooth, easy…
There were those less travelled
But I took them because You said so.
Even if I shed tears or roared laughter
As long as I journeyed with You,
I took the path…

One day, ever dearest Lord,
At the end of my journey,
I dream of being with You,
To spend my eternal life with You…
Aaah, that’s the ultimate dream I have…

I see death before as something so scary,
A snatcher of life…
But what is the beauty of this world
Compared to the magnificence
Of being cradled in Your arms,
Of seeing You face to face?
Thank You for Your light.
Now I see death as the only doorway
Towards my being with You.

But for now that I still live in this world,
Dearest Lord, my greatest dream
Is to “simply make You smile.”
If I fulfill this dream each day,
Then I shall be rewarded
Of my ultimate dream
Of eternally being with You.

My salvation is of great importance,
But life is all about You
And simply making You smile each day,
For me, is the essence of living…

Hugz tightest, my Beloved,
‘til the day we meet face to face.
Amen.

Have a Twinkling Soul!

LIKE THE BIRD....

During my silent retreat last June 16-17, as I attended Mass, a beautiful bird bigger than a sparrow flew to and fro on the chapel’s ceiling. There were times he hit the wall and I pitied him. I prayed that may he find his way out and not die there. Once he landed on the high window, but there was a screen, so he flew to and fro again.

During the reading, he flew on the altar ground, facing the tabernacle, stayed awhile, then flew straight out of the lower window without falter….

I was teary eyed at this. It was like he recognized Jesus and Jesus gave His blessing to him. He flew swiftly to wherever…

When God uprooted me from my community, the transition was hard. But He wanted me to get to know the Catholic Church, her teachings, Mama Mary. He called, I followed, to where, to what, I didn’t know.

I was like that bird flying around as I learn about my faith and get personal with Mother Church. But it seemed that God is giving me His blessing to fly now.

Our spiritual director suggested that I hasten my prayer for me to commit to a parish ministry where God is calling me. This will keep me rooted in the parish, so if later, He will lead me to other ministries outside it, I’m still connected to the Church and, that I should not refuse God…

Like the bird, he said, I should remain grounded in Jesus so I could fly straight to wherever He will lead me…

If it’s God’s time for you to fly, stretch your wings, let go, trust God, fly…Let the Holy Spirit carry you with the wind of God’s love to where God wants and needs you to be…

Have a Blossoming Life!

"AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT"

In the market, the veggie vendors normally remove the exterior of some of their repolyo (cabbage) and pechay so its fresh interior parts would remain at di na mahawa pa sa kabulukan (and others will not become rotten, too). Or at times, they would chop their veggies and remove rotten parts and sell as pakbet rekados (ingredients for mixed veggie dish) para di mabulok agad and bilhin pa ng mga tao (so they will not rot fast and people will still buy them....

Last night, I attended a talk about the New Roman Missal. The priest explained well the meaning of the new response, "And with Your Spirit." He said that it connotes God's Presence.

The essence of "The Lord is with you" is its being a greeting and a blessing in itself. Its biblical:
Ruth 2:4
1 Chronicles 22:11
Luke 1:28
2 Timothy 4:22
Galatians 6:18
Philippians 4:23
Philemon 4:25

He said, for St. Paul, spirit is that part in us that is under the rule of God that brings us closer to Him, the part that is good, noble and pure in us (Galatians 5) na makakasalo sa blessings ni God sa Misa (which catches the blessings of God in the Mass). This new response connotes the Presence of God in us. It's an invitation to our interior because the foundation of fruitful participation in the Mass is interior participation.... Kaya dapat nating ingatan our interior self para di mabulok agad (So we have to take care of our interior self so it will not get rotten fast) like the veggies in the market...The spirit in us makes us interiorly fresh.

At the end of the talk, the priest said, the word "with" in the new response is what we really should focus on because its essence connotes "God's Presence" or "being with God" and the moment we become aware that God is truly with us, we will not do anything to rotten our spirit. And like a clean plate, he said, we will be ready to receive Jesus....

Have a Pleasant Day!
